The Hypocrisy of the Religious Right and Sexual Morality.

There is an old saying, “It is not the crime but the coverup that will get you”. The same thing is with sin. It is not the sin but the hypocrisy.

I can not judge another person’s sexual sins. Not with my struggles. But when you start judging others on their sins. When you talk about Christian morality while supporting Trump. When you attack a man in a committed marriage who just happens to be gay as a sexual degenerate you lose all rights to judge. I am not judging your sins, I am judging your hypocrisy.

If we make it another 50, hundred years future historians will be able to pinpoint the moment American white evangelical Christianity sold out. When they finally cemented their turning their backs on Jesus I think that they will point to October 7th 2016. When this was released. https://youtu.be/fYqKx1GuZGg

Now Trump was no choir boy before this came out. He was accused of sexual misconduct by a dozen women. Some that he said he never knew, some that he had pictures with. This is a thrice married man who cheated on two of his wives. But this Access Hollywood tape, that was something else. He bragged about trying to commit adultery on his third wife. “I went on her like a bitch.” “Grab em by the pussy”. That tape should have been enough for Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffess, Lindsay Graham et all to just say “its not worth it. I am not voting for Hillary but I am not voting for this man.

For more than twenty years these were the people that said sexual morality matters. “If a man can’t be faithful to his wife, you can’t expect him to be faithful to the nation.” Those who attacked Bill Clinton for his sexual sins and borderline crimes were calling the tape “disturbing but just locker talk”

He was not making lewd sexual comments. He was going on about how he tried to commit adultery. He did make a public apology. After midnight but he didn’t apologize for trying to get it on while he was married with a married woman. He apologized for “using bad language” and then he started attacking Bill Clinton on his sexual sins. That video is the epitome of hypocrisy.

https://youtu.be/ycfARBsz6_Y

Ok I understand they held their nose and voted against Clinton, the lesser of two evils in their opinion. I voted for neither. I voted for McMullin. But at least they could be honest. If they said “Yes, Donald Trump is an adulterer and a philander but he will give us the Supreme Court. So we are ok with being hypocrites as long as what we want done.” But they didn’t do that.

But I think the nail on the coffin for the religious right and their moral crusade against sexual immorality happened when it came out that Trump’s fixer paid a porn star to be quiet about their affair during an election year. If a democrat did that the Republicans would scream for the democrat’s impeachment.

This is one thing that I don’t understand. If the evangelical right would support impeachment, they would get Mike Pence, one of their own as president. Although he is tainted by yoking himself with Trump. His social policies would be the same as Trump’s. But do they do that? NO! They double down on Trump. They say he is chosen by God. They call him a modern day King Cyrus. A gentile leader who will save American Christianity.

One thing that I hate is when the religious right compares Donald Trump to King David. Yes King David committed adultery and murder but he repented. Trump has never repented from anything. The analogy is not apt, it is borderline blasphemous. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Samuel+12&version=NIV King David had faults but he was humble before the Lord.

I have written blogs and made videos about homosexuality. How I believe through context that the Bible was condemning cultic prostitution, forced sodomy (actually forced sodomy is redundant. Because the wicked men who wanted to rape the angels to put them in their place and the wicked men in Judges 19 who wanted to rape the stranger that the Levite gave hospitality to is the sin of sodomy) and the Greek practice of older men having sex with teenagers. The Bible doesn’t condemn nor endorse same sex marriage. I support it because I believe if two people love each other they should be able to spend the rest of their lives together and get the benefits that straight couples do.

I also think that social conservatives should support it because those in committed marriages are less likely to engage in “the gay lifestyle”. It is like the religious right are stuck in the late 70’s and early 80’s and believe that “the gay lifestyle” is the bathhouse culture of indiscriminate sex and drug use. Like Robin Williams said in “Man of the Year”.

Tom Dobbs: [at a presidental debate] You want an amendment against same sex marriage! Anyone who’s ever been married knows it’s always the same sex!

You compare Mayor Pete Buttigieg to Donald Trump. You have a man in a loving marriage, a veteran, a Rhodes scholar and an Episcopalian who loves the Lord and actually follows His teachings versus a thrice divorced draft dodger who bragged about trying to commit adultery and paid off two porn stars and is everything that God warned us against.

And who of the two are the religious right calling a sexual degenerate, a threat to America’s sexual morality? The man who violated his sacred married vows at least 3 times and bragged about “grabbing women by the pussy” or the man in a loving committed marriage. Of course it is Mayor Pete.

I would love to see that presidential race. It would be a match of true opposites. But I do have to say something that may be controversial after thinking about it. I think that there is something about Mayor Pete that I find very disturbing and that may make it very hard for me to support him as president. He is a millennial and younger than me. I don’t know if I am ready to vote for president a man who is younger than me. But for the good of my country I may have to put my vanity aside and vote for a man who was is too young to remember rocking out to Walk Like An Egyptian, to have a crush on Punky Brewster, or to have seen Back to the Future in the theater and understand and enjoy it.And you know what that might not be a bad thing.

And my best friend Dok agrees and wanted me add. He never watched Gobots, the Real Ghostbusters, Garfield and Friends, Rainbow Bright, or Gem and the Holograms, or played Duck Hunt on Nintendo but he would also bite the bullet and vote for someone younger than him.

Lust Part One or Porn the Cyber Succubus

For those who expect me to speak about Trump, you have to wait. There is enough to talk about him and his sexual sins and the hypocrisy of those who condemn married homosexuals while supporting a thrice married man who bragged about committing adultery and paid off porn stars so they would not talk during an election year. That is the topic of my next blog. This blog may be all over the place and for that I apologize.

This one is about me and society. As I said in my previous blog, lust is one of the strongest sins within me a close second to sloth. I have struggled with lust ever since puberty when I found my father’s porn stash. I believe every generation Xer had a father who had a porn stash and their first dealings with sex came from a Playboy, a Penthouse, or a Hustler magazine. Now it is completely different there are videos of things we could never have thought of in our wildest dreams.

There has only been one significant period of time that I didn’t use visual porn. I became a Christian on September 29th 2008. I lasted until June of the following year. Looking back I don’t know how I did it. When one becomes a Christian you are so in love with God and the idea that you completely change but bad habits do have a way of creeping back into your life. First with pictures then with videos. And things have just gotten worse since.

Sin turn things all twisted. Sexual desire is a healthy and fun thing when in a healthy loving relationship but lust twists it. Sex is a commodity. Sex becomes using someone for your own pleasure not a shared fulfilling and fun experience. Sometimes it is people using each other to feel some sort of connection, to fill some sort of need. For me it fills the hole of loneliness.

Many people with depression and anxiety self medicate with drugs and alcohol, I sometimes self medicate with pornography. What I am looking for is the intimacy. And while using feels good physically and even gives me a rush emotionally, mentally and spiritually i am drained afterwards. Someone once said “if you can’t eat from the banquet you will eat from the trash.”

There are hundreds of channels on Pornhub catering to every fantasy or fetish. The most popular fetish is “stepmother/stepson” and “stepbrother/stepdaughter”. This reminds me of Leviticus 18 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus+18&version=NIV

Almost every act described can be found on pornhub barring bestiality and the sacrificing of children to Moloch. Gay for pay or straight girls having sex with girls and straight guys having sex with guys is just a modern version of the temple prostitutes of old. Except people are doing it for the god of money and a wealthy lifestyle instead of Asarte or Bal.

I have checked out almost every channel they have and I feel disgusted with myself afterwards. Many of these channels have videos that are abusive and borderline criminal. One of the things that prevents me from going back is the thought that this is someone’s daughter, sister, or wife. The porn industry swallows and spits out young women and men leaving them destroyed.

I watched Hot Girls Wanted both the movie and the series on Netflix. It shows the truth of pornography about how this happens. How young women go to California or Florida seduced by the idea of money and say that they will just do solo or girl-girl but that they never will do boy-girl. But eventually the money runs out and they do decide to do boy-girl and infections, STDs and drug use ensues.

I try to quit and I keep coming back. I don’t understand the business model for pornhub and the other sites. You don’t have to pay for porn. Where are they getting their profits from? Advertising? I haven’t had to pay for porn. When you don’t have to pay for it with cash it is very easy to get addicted.

Satan uses sin one out of two ways. He gets you to accept it and think that there is nothing wrong with it or he fills you with guilt so much that you get trapped in your sins and you become no good for yourself or for God’s Kingdom.

There was the myth of the Succubus a demonic creature that would seduce men and rob them of all their energy and will and then their life. Pornography is a cyber Succubus that twists the way we view sexuality. Instead of having loving committed growing relationships it makes us shells of human beings, This is primarily true with teenagers. https://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/2018/05/08/porn-effect-on-kids/

https://www.medpagetoday.com/tedmed/tedmed/82822

Many people believe that internet pornography is a danger, in fact there is a great Facebook group called Pornography the New Drug that shows the damage porn does to young minds, love, and the brain. Studies have shown that hardcore pornography has the same effect on the pleasure centers of the brain that heroin has. I do feel like a hypocrite attacking the very thing that I partake in. But I must be open about my struggles.

I have made video blogs about this topic before, I lost a girlfriend because of my porn use. I am not for banning porn, you ban porn and it will just go underground and will be part of the criminal element. I am for legalizing and regulating prostitution for that very reason. But when it comes to internet porn, there has to be a way to prevent impressionable minds from accessing it. Even if you just have to pay $1.00 to access the now free stuff. A child would have to steal their parents’ credit card and when the statement comes due there will be hell to pay.

If a gas station owner sold pornographic magazines and had them on the bottom shelf and took it out of the bag so any child could peruse it, they would be arrested for corrupting a minor. This is the same thing that the major porn sites do. I don’t know why a bunch of States Attorney Generals sue them for corrupting minors. Force them to make it so before looking at video #1 you have to pay something.

This was not an easy blog to write. I am putting myself out there. Like I said, I have watched all kind of videos. I think the guilt from this sexual sin keeps me from speaking out for God’s Kingdom. If God gave me a prophetic voice, how can I speak against injustice, hypocrisy, and sin when I myself am caught in the web of it. I think that guilt helped feed into the sloth of not writing or speaking out.

I have tried to practice the concept of harm prevention. I am very good at list making I have made a scale based on the harm of internet pornography both visual and written.

LUST LEVEL 5 exploitative pornography. Most of pornography fit this bill. Stepmother/stepson, any kind of step incest, teachers exploiting sexy students who need “extra credit”, any videos where the girl is choked, spat upon teased, or just used as a sex object where there is no love, no intimacy just raw lust.

LUST LEVEL 4. Is exploitative written erotica. This is fiction. There are many erotica sites online. I think they are better than videos in one way because no human beings are involved. It is all fiction. But they can also be worse because in stories you can cover things that you may not be able to film.

LUST LEVEL 3 there are some “ethical erotica” sites. Some people may argue that there is no such thing as ethical pornography. But there are some hardcore sites where the storylines while being hardcore are not exploitative and are with willing partners where both the man and the woman are enjoying themselves. Now this is not ideal but this is better than levels 5 or 4

LUST LEVEL 2 these are written stories about loving couples where there is unmarried sex but it is not exploitative. There are no power games, there are no storylines involving teachers/students, mind control, step incest. Yes these stories involve unmarried couples having sexual relations and this is still indulging my sin but not as bad as Levels 5 or 4 and there are no human beings involved as in level 3.

LUST LEVEL 1 stories about erotic married couples. There is a genre of hot monogamy erotica on the net. When I am reading these stories and yes getting release, I imagine I am in that loving relationship. It is not envy but fantasy about a future time where I have a wife who I can devote all my sexual energy to her and she me. This level is hard because it is like replacing heroin with sugar. And the way addiction works your brain gets programmed that you need harder stuff to get the same release.

LUST LEVEL 0 No pornography and no erotica. No masturbation at all. I do not think that this is feasible at this time. If I was in a stable romantic relationship, yes. But because I am not now in one I am going to try to steal toward levels 1 and 2 and never indulge with levels 5 and 4

Some conservative Christians may say that this is compromising with the flesh. Maybe it is but I also know that while some people have their sins conquered all at once. With some people the Holy Spirit takes more time. And if I can go 40 days without accessing levels 4 or 5 I would consider that a victory and I know that I am not going to be able to do it without God.

There are three ways to deal with lust. I call them the three Rs. The first R is release. Just do it. If it feels good. It’s not harming anyone. I think this leads to guilt and a hollow love life and a broken relationship with God. The second R is repress. This is even worst than the first one. When you repress that sexual energy has to go somewhere and usually the one repressing ends up having an affair with their staffer, getting caught with a man in a Men’s room in the Utah airport, or end up with naked pictures of them and a pool boy. The best R is Resolve. Knowing that you are a sexual being and there is nothing wrong with that but you have to resolve to use it in a safe loving committed way.

I don’t understand adultery. If you have someone who loves you, I don’t understand how you can break that trust. Maybe it’s because I have never been in a serious relationship. Having a serious romantic relationship when struggling with anxiety and depression can be very difficult. It if I am ever blessed to find a woman who loves me and I can share my life with, I pray that I would be able to kick the porn habit and never ever cheat on her with another woman. Adultery is betrayal. A betrayal of your spouse, using the other person and if that person is married, a betrayal of their spouse.

There is a thing called #nopornovember basically a challenge to give up pornography for the month of November. I am going to participate in it. At the end of my blogs I will post how long it has been since I have been at each lust level. If you want to participate please do because people giving each other support helps us at this task. I am using the APP Quit It.

The Sin of Sloth or I Will Blog About It Later

Four things you have to know about me. #1 I suffer from anxiety and depression almost crippling at times. #2 I am a Christian who believes that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and that He is my strength even when I am weak. #3 I am weak a lot. #4 I am also lazy.

I pay one hundred dollars for a WordPress account and noticed that I didn’t post in more than half a year. That is just lazy. Although that is quite simplistic. Sloth is more than laziness.

Sloth is from the Latin word acedia. This is a description of sloth I found on Wikipidea. “Mentally, acedia, has a number of distinctive components of which the most important is affectlessness, a lack of any feeling about self or other, a mind-state that gives rise to boredom, rancor, apathy, and a passive inert or sluggish mentation”. That is a mouthful.

Basically sloth is a mindset that prevents you from doing what God put you on earth to do. Sloth keeps you from doing what you want to do. It is like a spiritual depression that makes you only want to watch reruns of the Goldbergs. You know you should do something else but you don’t really care. You make excuses not to do them.

I am a man of many dreams. I want to create a non profit Generation Now that will help fight stigma against mental illness among youth using social media, benefit shows, and performing arts clubs. I know that I should do things to make this happen. I should actively take part in the Facebook group. I should write to the National NAMI (National alliance for the mentally ill” headquarters, Active Minds, Always Keep Fighting and other groups that fight mental illness stigma to see if I could get help or support.

I want to write to celebrities like Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki or The Good Place’s Kristen Bell to see if I may get their support. But fear of rejection makes me go back to the TV, Facebook, or playing Simpsons Tapped Out. https://youtu.be/AoK7LRt0mgI

I also am a struggling writer. Like an absent minded professor I have about a dozen partly written screenplays, short stories, or novels. I would say half written but that would be too generous. I just can’t get the energy to write. I know that I am talented but the thoughts come to me. “Why bother, I won’t succeed so why put the energy into it.”

I know I am not the only one who has dreams but lets inertia, apathy, and fear get in my way. Imagine what the world would be like if we actually followed our dreams with full gusto and allowed the Holy Spirit to give us wind to our sails.

That goes to my spiritual life. I do believe that God has given me a gift to speak out against corruption, hypocrisy, and against the religious right who have made a mockery of the Church that Christ created. But yet I don’t. I get overwhelmed by the madness that Trump has set loose in our nation. So I don’t blog, I don’t make my video blogs. Or I do and get no traction and I decide to give up.

In this series on the seven deadly sins I will discuss how they affect me and our president. Our president is a man of many sins. We all sin, don’t get me wrong. But when I sin, it affects my relationship with Jesus and maybe one or a few others. When Trump sins it affects millions. But a true follower of a Christ recognizes when they sin, repent, and try to be better. Even if we fall a thousand times, we recognize it, we apologize and we try again. Trump hasn’t repented once. His fruit is as rotten now as it was when he made his announcement that he was going to run for president.

As I said, Trump is a man of many sins. My worst and most active sins, pardon the pun, are lust and sloth. I don’t believe Trump suffers from sloth. If anything he is too active. He does too much. If pride is one extreme I think sloth is the other. It is an inertia filled with self loathing, apathy, and passive fear.

I am sick of letting my sloth keep me down. I am a child of the living God. He has given me talents that I don’t use. And if you don’t use them, you lose them. You get rusty and that is what makes sloth such a tenacious sin.

That is why I need discipline, no blog gets any traction if you only post once every four months. I have to post whether I feel like it or I don’t. If inspiration hits me, I have to get on my iPad and start typing.

This is a Christian blog so I think I will end with some scripture.

Matthew 25 (NIV)

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Yes the wicked servant acted as much out of fear than sloth but that is why sloth is such an invasive sin, it prevents you from doing a God’s work and as Jesus is basically saying here “if you don’t use it you lose it”. The Holy Spirit gives us all gifts but we have to use them, we have to follow the path that God gave us to the best of our abilities, and the more you do, the more energy and passion and talent God will give you.

God Bless you guys my next blog will be about Lust and will probably be the most personal and hardest blog I have ever written.

Reverend Graham. Help Christianity and Our Nation and Rebuke Trump.

Dear Rev. Graham

I am writing this letter in hopes that newspapers will publish it and you will read it and it will change your heart and mind. I am also posting this on social media hoping it will reach you and change your heart.

You have designated this Sunday June 2nd as a national day for prayer for our president to help protect him from his enemies. You said the only hope for him and this nation is God. I believe that as well.

But I believe that you have compromised the faith. I believe that by siding with Trump you are doing more harm to the faith than help. Trump is everything that Scripture warns us about . This is from 2 Timothy 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. NIV

Trump has shown time and again that he is a mocker, a slanderer, a man with no humility and no decency, yet you give him religious cover. Yes Trump is supporting policies that may protect Christianity. But what is the point of protecting the church if we have to corrupt it in order to do it. Yoking ourselves with Trump is like a family hiring a pedophile bouncer to protect their children. Yes he will protect you from enemies without but all the while corrupting your house.

I don’t believe that you are a bad man, I think that fear and hatred has skewed and corrupted your faith. You are so afraid of Christians losing control that you have unwillingly sold your soul for political power. God has given you so many gifts. You could be using them to spread the Gospel. To show an unbelieving country that God is good. That we have a savior who died for us but also lived to show us how to truly be human.

Unfortunately Trump is the the complete opposite of Jesus. He is against all of the virtues that Jesus taught and many people including you are treating him like he is God’s anointed. Jesus said that we can not serve two masters and his whole live has been about serving himself and money.

Elijah did not ask for the Israelites to pray for Queen Jezebel. He spoke out against her corruption. Isaiah did not stand up for the status quo. He spoke up against it and his words in Isaiah 1 could describe America today. And John the Baptist spoke out against the corrupt and sexual degenerate King Herod Antipas. He did not give him religious succor.

So Reverend Graham. Be a man of God. Be like your father. Grid up your loins and unyoke yourself from this man who shows none of the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. NIV

Yes this will be difficult. Yes some people will hate you. Those who drank the Trump flavor-aid will call you names, will attack you. Donations may dry up. But doing this with Jesus and His word backing you up will not only help you, it will help this nation and maybe will even help bring non believers to Christ.

The ball is in your court. You could rise up to this occasion and help lead a third great awakening or you could continue to do what you are doing. Being a false prophet who tarnishes the name of Jesus Christ in the eyes of the non believers.

You can do this. I believe in you but more than that I believe in a God of truth and a God of justice. The only question is do you?

The Devil’s Greatest Trick Part One

The Devil’s Greatest Trick.

I was going to start my series on the seven deadly sins, starting with sloth. I just never got around to it. Don’t worry I will blog about my worst sin, but I had to get this out first.

I made this webpage to vent about and expose the false church. The church whose chief anointed one in our president Donald Trump. The man according to Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Robert Jeffress, and the My Pillow Guy was anointed by God to protect America, Israel, and most important American Christians. The near worship of him is so much that survivors of the Tornados in Alabama asked him to sign their Bibles.

Now famous people sign things that they have something to do with. Anton Yelich might sign a baseball, Matthew Broderick might sign a playbill, Weird Al Yankovic might sign a tour shirt.

All three of my examples signed things that they were associated with. Donald Trump is not Jesus or Moses. He is not even mentioned in the Bible by name.

This gets to the title of this blog. The Greatest Trick the Devil Ever pulled. The famous saying made most famous by Kevin Spacey in “The Usual Suspects” goes like this “the greatest Trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he never existed”. I don’t believe that is his greatest trick. It is an important one in his arsenal. But not his biggest.

His biggest trick is convincing people who consider themselves to be followers of God to sin and do awful things in God’s name. This should be a very hard trick for Satan to do because the Bible is very clear about what a Christian looks like. Matthew 5-7 and Galatians 5 are two great examples of what Christians look like. But time and time again Satan has pulled this trick.

One of the first major times Satan did this is in scripture. Many people say that Jesus died for our sins, while I believe that is true. Ask the question “Why was Jesus killed?” And the answer is because Jewish religious leaders believed that they were protecting themselves and the Jewish Nation by killing Jesus. They also believed that Jesus was a blasphemer and was put to death for that.

That is the sad thing. Their savior was in front of them yet they couldn’t see it due to their own individual and national pride, their love of power, and self righteousness. Satan thought he was having the last laugh by getting these Pharisees to kill the Son Of Man. But Satan while cunning is not that smart and could not see the big picture. Jesus’ death and resurrection helped start a revolution of the heart, soul, and body that is still going on today.

Can you imagine how angry this made the Devil? His greatest triumph turned into his greatest defeat. He must have been furious. So he threw the entire Roman Empire at the early Christians martyring thousands. Yet that didn’t kill this new way of love, wisdom, and community of transformed souls. So Satan learned that he couldn’t destroy the church from without. So in my opinion, he decided to destroy it from within. Since Constantine saw the cross in the sky and Christianity became the state religion the false church ebbed and flowed.

It rose up during the crusades, the inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, racial based chattel slavery by “Christians” who said that it was ok to enslave “a people that God made inferior” when Paul said in Christ there is no Jew, no Greek. We are all the same in Christ. That is what is so awesome about this new Kingdom. The old rules of racial superiority, colonialism, violence, pride, and greed became obsolete with Jesus Christ and the transformation that He can gives us if we accept Him.

Satan doesn’t want us to love each other. He wants us to hate each other. He wants us greedy. He wants us prideful. He wants massive income inequality because he knows that he gets the sinners who exploit the poor and he can get the poor to rise up in violence against their oppressors and Satan gets them as well. Look at how the Bolschevicks overthrew the brutal and greedy Russian orthodox Christian Tsars only to become as brutal as they were. The Red Terror in France was the same way. Violence begets violence. Hate begets hate. It never ends and that is just the way Satan likes it.

Again this false church had periods of prominence. The medieval Roman Catholic Church, the brutal colonizing “Christians” who colonized the New World, Africa, India and other places all in the name of Christianity all the while explotating and killing the natives. This False church laid low for most of the 19th and 20th century. It never had the power that the Pre-reformation Roman Catholic Church did until 1980.

I will discuss the rise of the most compromised and powerful “Christian” church since the 16th century in the next Blog. The Devil is still tricking and people are still falling for it.

“An American Noel”: If Jesus came today, my 2nd favorite Christmas Song.

“An American Noel”: If Jesus came today, my 2nd favorite Christmas Song

My 2nd favorite Christmas song is a folk song by David Carter and Tracy Grammer. This little known song is beautiful in it’s simplicity. It poses a “What if?” What if Jesus was born today?

four in the mornin at the trade winds motel

the register reads all full up and the clerk thinks, just as well

but out in the tool shed by an old coleman lamp

a little family makes its meager camp

The ancient Hebrews believed that the Messiah would be born in a regal family. They didn’t suspect that He was going to be born of a lower middle class working family from Nazareth of all places.

In John 1: 46 Nathaniel asks “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” It would be if the Messiah was born in downtown Detroit or in the Appalachians .

Jesus came to save us all, but he also came to speak up for the oppressed and the poor.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

because he has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

and recovery of sight for the blind,

to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[f]

When Jesus said this in a synagogue in Nazareth, his hometown, people knew that He was declaring that He was the Messiah. The wealthy and the powerful feared and despised Him. They plotted to kill Him and they did.

I believe that Jesus will return in all of His Glory. I believe that the wicked will be punished, the mourning will smile. The hungry will be fed. But if God decided to try it again, to come to the world in the flesh, he would be called a Marxist. He would be ridiculed on Fox News. Franklin Graham and other religious right leaders would want nothing to do with him. Trump would call Him a loser and his so called Christian supporters would agree.

Things haven’t changed much between 30 AD and now. Technology has advanced. We like to think of ourselves as more civilized but really deep down we are still the same greedy, prideful, sinful people we always were. And there are still the poor and the oppressed who are mocked. There are politicians who rig the system to benefit the wealthy. Just look at the tax monstrosity that Franklin Graham was silent about.

But there are also true believers, those who love God and serve Him and wait on baited breath for Him to return. They are wandering souls who live in the world but don’t really belong. Jesus gave hope to them when He walked the earth. He gives them hope today. I have a wandering soul and Jesus gives me hope and joy . I pray that He returns and returns soon.

and there comes a savior

and a preacher in the park

and he camps with the homeless

where they shiver in the dark

he delivers salvation

to the weary and the cold

and he brings joy, joy, joy to the wanderin soul

he brings joy, joy, joy to the wanderin soul

Wonder What Jesus Thinks About Christmas? :10 Best Christmas Song

I was going to write five blogs on the worst Christmas songs and five of what I think are the best. But there is so much negativity in the world today and I didn’t want to add to it. So I decided to write about my top ten Christmas songs.

Sure I could write about how the brat from “I’m Getting Nuttin’ For Christmas” deserves to get nothing and is symbolic of American youth. I could write about how “Santa Baby” is a song about a woman who is going to offer sexual favors to get what she wants from Santa. Don’t get me started on the Michael Buble “Santa Buddy” version. I could write about how Rudolph teaches a terrible story about only accepting people who are different if they could do something for you. If there was no nasty snow storm, those other reindeer would continue to treat him like Trump treats minorities.

I could also write about how a 1940’s flirtation song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is now the perfect song for today’s sexual molestation and harassment news. I could make a parody using Al Franken, Kevin Spacey, Roy Moore, Harvey Weinstein or Donald Trump.

But I am not. Instead I am going to write about a lesser known folk Christmas song that asks the question, “Wonder What Jesus Thinks About Christmas?”

Every year round this time you get two groups of fundamentalists. Those saying that anyone who celebrates Christmas is a pagan worshipper and those saying that there is a war on Christmas and the secular left is attacking the faith.

First off, yes. The early church co-opted pagan festivals, the Solstice and Mithras celebration as recruiting tools. But I am not worshipping Mithras this season. I am celebrating the fact that God loves us so much that He became one like us as a lowly babe in the manger. Second I don’t think that Jesus cares if we put Christ back in Christmas. I think He cares more about us putting Christ back in American Christianity.

But this song written by Danny Tate does make some very good points, even if it is one of the most depressing Christmas songs ever made.

Some of the lyrics are:

People go in debt this time of year only to regret this time of year. The lonely feel much lonelier, no one to dry their tears. I wonder what Jesus thinks about Christmas?

I am single. I have never had a serious girlfriend. This time of year is tough. It is a time of family. I am blessed to still have my folks, but at 40, it would be nice to have little ones to buy presents for.

But we do make Christmas out to be this big production that more often than not falls flat. It becomes more about gifts, rushing, drinking, loneliness, parties. Christmas has become a commercial holiday. A holiday about consumerism. We consume vast amounts of food and get stomach aches. We buy massive presents and go into debt. We gorge on Christmas TV watching beautiful yet imperfect people learn lessons, some through supernatural means and some not. We listen to Christmas carols but we get numb to it all. I know sometimes I do.

After all the shiny toys have turned to rust. I wonder what Jesus thinks about Christmas?

I don’t think He would like all this hullabaloo. He was a very humble man. I think he would enjoy the sentiment. I think He would cry at the end of It’s a Wonderful Life. I think He would love the “Spirit of Christmas.”, the Spirit Of Love For mankind. This is the Spirit that can transform a miserable old skinflint like Scrooge into one of the best men in Jolly Old England. The Spirit that can make the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes in one day.

Many movies and TV shows talk about the Christmas spirit. But after Christmas there is a let down. With the true Christmas Spirit, there is no letdown. The true Christmas Spirit is the Holy Spirit. One of the greatest gifts that God has given us. Jesus called it the Comforter.

John 14 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I use the King James Version here because the New International Version uses the word “advocate” but I like Comforter better.

When you give yourself to Jesus, when you allow Him into your heart, He gives you comfort like you have never known.

In this wicked world–a world of greed, a world of hatred, a world that seems to be going insane with an insane leader at the helm–the Holy Spirit is a comfort. It lets me know that things are bad now but they will be OK.

So What would Jesus think about Christmas? I think He would say, “Enjoy the good things. Listen to your Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas CD, eat your cookies, watch Odie give Garfield that back scratcher and Garfield give Grandma those letters, but remember the Christmas season only lasts about 25 days. He is forever and He wants to spend forever with you.

I Wonder What Jesus Thinks About Christmas?

Also some people might consider this blasphemous or sacrilege but I wanted to have the picture for this blog be Jesus dancing the Charlie Brown Snoopy Dance. But I will do one better. This is a sketch that Saturday Night Live did about 20 years ago and it shows Jesus today. Some may consider this blasphemous but some truth can be found in a secular comedy show and I love this and I cried at the end of it just like Jesus and then I danced like Him too.

#4 Weirdest Christmas song: Santa Claus is kinda scary in a Roy Moore sort of way: Santa Claus Scares Me

I know the title is a cheap shot. Roy Moore has not been convicted of a crime. But there is enough evidence that he chased after 14,15,16,17 year old girls when he was in his early 30’s. Calling one of them when she was in Trig class, hitting on Wendy Miller when she was 14 and playing an elf at Gasden Mall. The accusations of Leigh Corfman and Beverly Young Nelson of groping and other forms of sexual misconduct are quite credible, even Mitch McConnell said so.

But back to the song. This song is written and sung by YouTube performer Tessa Netting. She acts as a cute kid with pony tails who is kind of creeped out by Santa Claus.

“Santa Claus Scares me. No I’m not lying. Why does he come into my house when I am asleep. That’s kind of creepy”

If you think about it, the thought of a man invading your house while you and your family are sleeping is kind of disturbing. It reminds me of what Colin Quinn said in anSNL sketch in which he played an ex-con Santa, talking to an irate parent “But, when you think about it, what does Santa do every year but commit a form of home invasion? A very loving and generous home invasion, yes.. but still home invasion.”

“Why does he watch me? Santa’s a stalker”

He knows when you are sleeping. He knows when your awake? I am surprised that most kids are not frightened out by this concept. I guess the idea of gifts might make it less creepy to Children. But if it was anyone else but Santa who watched little boys and girls when they were sleeping, you would call the police.

The letter Netting’s character writes to Santa is hilarious. And singing this while swinging her candy cane like a sword.

“He sees me when I’m sleeping. He knows when I’m awake. I better watch out. I’m going to cry. Don’t come in for goodness sake.”

With all the allegations of sexual misconduct of Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein, the Olympic gymnastics doctor and yes Roy Moore. This song in a way makes Santa Claus creepier.

The song is pitch perfect. Tessa Netting is great as the little girl. Her facial expressions are hilarious. I would recommend listening to this song this Christmas.

But back to Roy Moore. He scares me even worse than Santa. He is a Bible thumping fundamentalist who wants Christian Sharia Law. Yet he himself possibly molested young teenagers. He may be innocent of the molestation charges. But he did go after them before he was married. He like many single fundamentalist view virtue as a prize. They want an innocent wife that they can mold and then control.

But yet Republicans will still support this man. Even if the allegations are true, they will support him because he is anti-abortion, anti-gay, and for a tax bill that would make the Old Testament prophets scream.

But he is just one man from an ultra conservative State. But I do worry. What if the Moores, the Pences, the rest of the dominionists who want to make America into this twisted Christian “utopia”, What If they get their way?

Now that should scare us.

Don’t spend a Christmas with a Dalek. He will EXTERMINATE them: #5 Weirdest Christmas song

I read that in order to be a successful blogger you have to write, write, and write some more. I have the creativity but lack the discipline. So this Advent I have decided to try to write a blog a day. And in this Christmas season I decided to have a little fun. I will share with the you the readers some of my favorite, least favorite, and strangest Christmas songs and carols and talk about what they mean to me and how they interact with today’s climate.

20 Days till Christmas I will break my blogs into 5. The 5 weirdest and most bizarre Christmas songs, the 5 songs that I hate the most, my 5 favorite Christmas songs, and my 5 favorite Christmas carols. The difference between songs and carols in my mind are that songs are more individualistic and singular and carols are more religious and have been passed on through the generations.

I will continue to write about Donald Trump, Franklin Graham and the religious right. But enough about xenophobic people who play on hatred and fear. I am going to change topics and talk about Daleks.

I am a huge Dr. Who fan. Still David Tennent as the tenth, I guess now the eleventh doctor. And I willu be there to see the thirteenth Doctor team up with the first Doctor. And I will Cry when Robert Capaldi’s Doctor regenerates, I will cry. The Doctor Who Christmas Special has become a yearly ritual.

But in 1964 a year after Dr. Who premiered, the pop band the Go Go’s came up with I’m Gonna Spend My Christmas With a Dalek. It’s a pop song where a couple of teenage girls and a Dalek sing about how happy they are celebrating Christmas.

These are some of the lyrics.

I’m gonna spend my Christmas with a Dalek

and hug him underneath the mistletoe

and if he’s very nice

I’ll feed him sugar spice

and hang a Christmas stocking from his big red toe

And when we both get up on Christmas morning

I’ll kiss him on his chromium plated head

and take him in to say hi to Mum

and frighten Daddy out of his bed

Now everyone knows that the Daleks are genocidal robot monsters created by genocidal mad man Davros of the Planet Skarro. Although this was eleven years since the great Tom Baker’s Genesis of the Daleks. (Yes I am a nerd.) Even during the first Doctor’s time the Dalek’s were monsters.

They wouldn’t want to eat more pudding, they would want to turn the whole family into pudding. But still this song is catchy and I like it. It makes no sense unless this Dalek has a major malfunction.

Also truthfully, the Cybermen scare me more than the Daleks and the Weeping Angels scare me even more. Blink terrified me. But you know what they don’t scare me as much as what our president could do.

Now is 11/9/2016 a fixed point in time? Or could Dr.Who and her, yes her, next companion go back in time and prevent it?
